Alderton Schools Parent, Teacher & Friend Association

Welcome to Alderton Infant School

This information has been put together by Alderton Infant and Junior School Parent, Teacher & Friend Association especially for you, as a new family joining our school community. Starting school is an exciting time for the whole family. Studies show that there’s a direct link between parental involvement and how well children do, so why not get involved from the start! We hope this pack helps you with information about Alderton Schools Parent, Teacher & Friend Association and lets you know how you can join in and support us to raise money in so many ways.

Why do we have a PTFA?

Welcome to Alderton’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association!

The PTFA are supported by the staff and the headteachers at Alderton Infant and Alderton Junior Schools as well as parents and friends within the Alderton community.

From January 2024, the PTFA brings new committee members including 2 new Co-Chairs, a new Treasurer, and a completely new board of Trustees. As a group, we are keen to plan some exciting events at the schools with the activities organised encouraging both the children and parents of the Alderton communities to come together and have fun, but also raise some money in the process.

As a newly formed committee, we are planning to host some new activities for 2024 as well as continuing with some firm favourites. The events will include school discos with a privately hired DJ, Fathers and Mothers and others Day stalls for those special people caring for the children, a night of Zumba with our very own parent instructor, an adult only quiz night joint with a child only movie night so the kids can feast on popcorn whilst the adults let their hair down. Not forgetting our big summer bonanza!

Previously the money raised by the PTA has gone towards supporting the school on various things like outdoor playground equipment, school trips and year 6 leavers activities to name a few. We have an overwhelming amount of preloved school uniform that we will be increasing our sales on going forward. This will now be a monthly pop-up shop, both before and after school to enable all parents and carers that accessibility.

If you would like to become part of the planning and/or executing for any of these activities, please reach out to the PTFA via email on aldertonptfa@gmail.com

We are always open to having extra support for these events because if we don’t have the help of the parents, teachers, and friends of Alderton Schools, we cannot make them happen. All activities as always, are added to both school’s newsletters and can also be found on the Alderton Infant and Junior Schools PTFA Facebook page. This page is only available to parents that actively have children attending the schools.

Our main goal is to raise money whilst having fun therefore please support us in achieving that.

We look forward to seeing many of you at our 2024 events.

Jo and Eve, Co-Chairs
